I’m a longtime volunteer judge for an industry trade association annual awards program. Members submit entries detailing their best events in a variety of categories for the opportunity to be recognized for their accomplishments with a prestigious award.
This past year a client who oversees meetings, incentives, and trade shows for a multinational company, decided she wanted to submit entries on behalf of her team to a number of organizations hosting awards program. The categories were extensive and the client needed assistance in researching, compiling details, and writing the submissions. My experience as a judge helped me focus on what elements were essential to include and how to weave them into a compelling story that a judge would follow and enjoy reading.
Out of ten submissions I worked on, eight won awards in gold, silver, and bronze categories. The judges’ comments were helpful and informative; this is my favorite. “The applicant’s entry is compelling and excellent for highlighting corporate and community in an engaging educational conference. The supporting document and written narrative align, an impressive great read! Congratulations on a great entry!
Awards submissions are fun and rewarding to work on. My industry knowledge allows me to fill in any gaps I come across, and who doesn’t love to create a good story! If you’re thinking about submitting your work for an award, please get in touch! I’d love the opportunity to help you win!
